The Power to Deliver for Our District

We need representation in Albany to fight for legislation that benefits our primarily rural area.

In his response to Mike's debate question about whether, if elected, his Republican opponent would work or vote to overturn reproductive freedoms or marriage equality in New York State, Mike's opponent admitted that he will have no real influence in Albany on legislation to benefit our Assembly District.

He said, "Lookit, we have a Democrat majority in New York State...It's not realistic to think that those laws are going to change in New York. It's really an interesting hypothetical, but it's not going to happen."

Mike's opponent admits that minority legislators are unable to enact real change.

While he boasts to his supporters that, "I think I can do a lot as a Republican," he admits the reality: Outside the majority, it is unrealistic to think he will have any influence.

Alternately, Mike pointed out to members of the Chautauqua County Farm Bureau at their Annual Meeting that every one of their more than ten 2024 state legislative victories were sponsored by a Democratic Assembly member and a Democratic Senator and signed into law by our Democratic Governor.

During the debate, Mike pointed to Rolly Kidder (D), Bill Parment (D), Jess Present (R), Patricia McGee (R), and Cathy Young (R), all of whom got things done for the people of this district and were in the majority party.

In fact, when Cathy Young was no longer in the majority as a state senator, she quit because she knew she could no longer be effective.

No matter your party affiliation, Mike is committed to representing all of the people of our Assembly District.

Mike will work hard on solutions for all of the issues important to our residents: providing judges discretion to set bail; ensuring law enforcement support and services for drug addiction and mental health; working with school districts as they confront declining enrollment and possible changes to the state aid formula; improving housing and affordability; ensuring support for agricultural programs; expanding workforce development efforts to include the buildings and construction trades apprenticeship programs and Jamestown Community College’s training and certifications programs; and delivering state assistance for economic development projects and infrastructure needs such as improvements to the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities, our bridges and roads, and access to broadband.

We must address the District’s many needs to renew our communities. Mike’s opponent admits that he cannot deliver on those needs. Mike will.

Only one candidate in this race has the opportunity to do the most good for the residents and businesses of our Assembly District, and that's Mike Bobseine.
